Frequently asked questions

Admission is through a personal interview so we can get to know each other better. You can reach out using the contact details above and we will be happy to get back to you. Applications can be submitted throughout the year, but we recommend getting in touch well in advance to secure availability, especially for the start of the academic year in September. We look forward to meeting you!
To be admitted, you must be enrolled (or about to enroll) at a university or higher education institution in Milan. The Pensionato is reserved for male students. There is no strict age limit, but the residence is designed for university students (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate). You do not need to be Catholic: the residence welcomes students of all backgrounds and faiths.
Pensionato Bertoni offers the most competitive rate for student accommodation in Milan. The fee includes everything: single room with private bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning with linen change, free kitchen and laundry on every floor, and access to the study room, recreational and sports facilities. Compared to typical student housing in Milan, a single room for students in Città Studi typically costs significantly more, and utilities are often excluded. The only excluded expense is food. Contact us for a personalized quote.
The stay follows the academic year, generally from September to July. Check-in for new residents usually takes place in the first week of September, before classes begin. Different move-in dates can be arranged, as well as shorter stays (semester, trimester). Check-out is by the end of July. Contact us to check availability.
Of course! We regularly organize Open Days and individual visits. The next Open Days are Saturday March 14 and Saturday May 2, 2026. You can book a visit by contacting us via email, phone or WhatsApp. We will show you the rooms, common areas and you can meet the management team.
The Pensionato has internal rules designed to ensure mutual respect and peaceful coexistence. The main rules cover quiet hours (especially during exam periods), care of shared spaces and general community guidelines. There is no strict curfew. The full set of rules is provided upon move-in and can also be found in the "Useful Materials" section below.
Every floor has a fully equipped industrial kitchen, completely free to use. You can cook independently with your own groceries. Many residents cook and eat together, making mealtimes a social occasion. Alternatively, the Pensionato has partnerships with local restaurants, bars and gyms.
External guests can access common areas during the hours set by the house rules. For rooms and overnight stays, specific rules apply and are communicated upon move-in. The Pensionato prioritizes a peaceful and respectful environment for all residents.
